Analyzer Equipment to Optimize Nitrogen Removal
Process at Municipal Wastewater Treatment Facilities

You may be aware of the program organized by the Department of Environmental Protection to make surplus Nitrogen Trading Program funds available to purchase analyzer equipment for optimization of the de-nitrification processes. Many of you may be aware of the advanced nutrient monitoring products manufactured in the USA by our company and sold under the ChemScan brand name. Many of the major BNR/ENR plants in North America use ChemScan analyzer systems to monitor their chemical and biological processes, including a growing list of plants in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland and Western Pennsylvania.

Information is available at our website www.ASAanalytics.com/ctnitrogen that describes our nutrient analyzer products and application experience. One ChemScan UV-2150/N analyzer is capable of monitoring multiple sample locations for both ammonia and nitrate, and can be upgraded in the future to include additional parameters such as phosphorous. The UV-2150/N can also become the central analyzer in a future nutrient analysis system that can monitor up to eight sample locations, depending on the accessory items used. A system is currently available to monitor one or two sample locations at a price that is within the maximum amounts established by the DEP.

Most plants that have minimized their nitrogen discharges have learned that direct on-line analysis of the nutrients at multiple sample locations is the best way to control chemical additions, reduce energy and optimize the de-nitrification process.

We would like to make you a special offer in conjunction with this program:

  1. We will help evaluate your process, select sample locations and recommend on-line nutrient analyzer equipment that qualifies for reimbursement under the program.
  2. We will provide the quotations and other documentation required for reimbursement under the program
  3. We will assist plants in furnishing the information required by the state to fulfill the preliminary application process including suggested answers to the questions required by the DEP.
  4. We will provide continuing assistance to plants that select ChemScan, including support of the formal DEP application, access to nutrient removal experts, technical training and service.

We will have company personnel travelling throughout the state within the next two weeks.
Please contact us at www.ASAanalytics.com/ctnitrogen or our local representatives at

Find out Why ChemScan is the Leader in BNR/ENR Nutrient Analysis

    • Nitrate requires no reagents. Ammonia requires only generic chemicals, available from local outlets. No "brand name" chemicals.
    • Low capital cost compared to individual nutrient analyzer and/or sensors
      • ChemScan does not require frequent manual calibration
      • ChemScan automatically cleans itself
      • ChemScan uses DI or Distilled water as the Zero (calibration) Standard
      • No "Brand Name" High/Low Calibration Standards Required
    • Filters, if required*, are reusable and easy to clean
      * not required for samples with TSS of 150ppm or less and turbidity of 60 NTU or less
  • No mandatory maintenance contracts!
  • No sub merged seals to replace!
  • No ion electrodes to clean or replace!
